Online Learning The Graduate Certificate in Counselling Studies is a one year course, and is available on a part time basis.
This short course provides a foundation in human behaviour, approaches to counselling and interpersonal skills, as well as a focus on the importance of the person of the practitioner. With only four units, the Graduate Certificate in Counselling Studies has been developed on a pedagogy that values experiential learning and face-to-face interaction, with an emphasis on understanding the human person of both the client and the counsellor.

Admission Criteria
RECENT SECONDARY EDUCATION
Applicants with recent secondary education are not eligible for entry to this course.
VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (VET) STUDIES
Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study are not eligible for admission to this course.
HIGHER EDUCATION
Applicants with a Bachelor degree in any field are eligible for admission to this course.
WORK LIFE EXPERIENCE
Applicants with work and life experience may be eligible for admission. Please contact study@chc.edu.au to find out if you are eligible.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Applicants for whom English is not their first language must provide certified documentary evidence that their secondary schooling, or tertiary studies of at least one year, was conducted in the English language聽or聽they have satisfactory results in an acceptable English Language Proficiency examination (see table below). Results are to be no more than two years old as at the commencement of the course of study.

Course Structure
The Graduate Certificate in Counselling Studies consists of four foundational units designed to develop students鈥� knowledge and skills in the field of counselling.
