The study of history is pivotal to understanding the world. How you understand your identity, your place in your society, your family, your work, your life 鈥� all these are tied up with your understanding of the story of the world which you can learn about in a degree in history. Studying a major in history at the Millis Institute means thinking hard about the ideas and movements that have shaped our world.
Studying a degree in history at the Millis Institute gives you the opportunity to explore some of the greatest works of historical writing; a list of these texts can be found under the Key Texts tab.
All Liberal Arts students complete a minor in History. Students may complete a major in history by taking 8 or more units in History in their degree in history.
